Environment Canada has issued a weather warning for the Thompson-Nicola region.
Rain with embedded thunderstorms is expected to begin later on Thursday.
A developing cold front will stall over the area late Thursday before starting to transition out of the area on Friday.
Much like it did starting last Thursday evening, the weather combined with ongoing spring snow melt will lead to rising river and creek levels.
That could result in more flooding in the region.
Quickly flowing water and the adjacent river banks are potentially unsafe.
Don’t approach washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts, and keep a safe distance from creek and river banks.
Officials recommend that any sandbags that were laid due to flooding over the past five days be left in place until it’s certain that the inclement weather is over.
