More than 20 more temperature records have been set across British Columbia, according to preliminary data from Environment Canada.
It comes as the heat wave that’s been buffeting the province begins to tail off.
The following areas were among the 21 to see new records set on Sunday:
Kelowna: New record of 39.7ºC; old record of 38.9ºC set in 1994
Kamloops: New record of 41.1ºC; old record of 38.9ºC set in 1908
Penticton: New record of 38.8ºC; old record of 38ºC set in 1994
Summerland: New record of 37.2ºC; old record of 37ºC set in 1994
Merritt: New record (tied) of 39ºC; old record set in 2006
Quesnel: New record of 38.1ºC; old record of 36.1ºC set in 1904
Vernon: New record of 40.1ºC; old record of 40ºC set in 1908
Heat warnings remain in place across BC Interior, both north and south.
