It looks as though Thompson residents may get a break from the excessive heat very soon.
A heat warning that was issued in the South Thompson has officially been rescinded. after a high of 34ºC on Wednesday, the region should see temperatures between 21 and 28ºC over the next five days.
Despite the cooler weather in the south, a heat warning in the North Thompson has been extended. Residents can expect highs to stay above 29ºC over the next couple of days.
"Temperatures will remain elevated today and Wednesday," wrote Environment Canada. "A cooler stretch of weather is expected beginning Thursday as an upper-level trough moves into the area."
Extreme heat affects everyone. It can cause swelling, rashes, cramps, fainting, exhaustion, heatstroke, and worse.
