It's not very often that people get excited about a rainy day but following a summer of unprecedented wildfires and smokey skies, Vancouver was pretty excited about Friday's rainfall.
If #Vancouver was a TV series, #rain would be a central character. And it's been missing for too many episodes.

Unfortunately not very much of that rain is expected to make its way to B.C.'s Interior, which hasn't seen significant rainfall in months.
Although, there is some rain in the Okanagan's forecast for Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The weekend weather is also expected to help with the smoky skies clouding the Okanagan.
"A shift in the weather will likely lift smoke from the region," said BC Wildfire Communications Director Kevin Shrepnik. "But it's a double edge sword as the smoke has been lessening fire activity, by providing some shade and trapping moisture to the ground."
For now the Smokanagan will continue to #prayforrain.
