Kelowna's July 2019 weather wrap up

After a very dry spring that received less than 60% of the average amount of precipitation, Mother Nature turned around last month and it’s been a wetter than average start to the summer so far!

Some of you might have noticed that our surrounding area has been greener than usual because of the moisture.

July’s seasonal average precipitation amount is 37.2, and it only took the first half of the month of July to receive this amount. By the end of the month we received 42.4mm.

Our temperatures last month were near seasonal. For July 2019, the average daytime high was 27.1C and the average overnight low was 13.8C, compared to seasonal maximum and minimum temperatures of 27.9C and 11.1C. These seasonal temperatures are based on data between the years of 1981 to 2010.

For the first few days of August 2019, it will be a mixed bag. Tomorrow we will see sun, clouds and the potential for showers and thundershowers with the passage of a cold front. However a more benign weather pattern returns for the August long weekend.
