This year’s winter in British Columbia will be “rather mild,” according to AccuWeather’s long-range forecast.
That is likely to mean less snow in the province and above average temperatures – but could also bring drought in the spring.
"The main storm track will likely bring bulk of rain and snowfall events to northwestern British Columbia this winter," AccuWeather's Brett Anderson said.
But the likes of Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops and Prince George will be drier and sunnier, AccuWeather added.
For the Prairies, however, the news is not good.
They will be hit by Arctic blasts.
But Alberta should be spared, since most of the cold air will be to the east of the province.
"However, there will certainly be some bitterly cold outbreaks, especially during the first half of the winter," Anderson added.
On the plus side, that could mean some early skiing in the Rockies.
Ontario, meanwhile, is expected to bear the brunt of the snowstorms.
