Hazardous winter conditions are expected for the North Thompson today.
A wet storm system is expected to move into the B.C. Central Interior later in the day, bringing heavy snowfall with it.
As a result, Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the region.
The snow will begin in the afternoon and intensify in the evening, with 30 to 50 centimetres expected by Wednesday.
It will gradually move southward and out of the region Wednesday night.
The rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult and road closures very possible.
Visibility may also be significantly reduced at times in heavy snow.
