Kurt Cobain, the original tortured artist, and influencer on the rise of grunge, and interestingly enough, a nirvana himself for the disenfranchised angsty youth.
More than just a musician, Cobain used his words and thoughts to spark a movement that asked youth to question authority, a movement that is still very much necessary and relevant in today’s society.
His messages against sexism, racism and homophobia made him as loved and as hated as he was, his thought process was generations ahead which is why he is still so vital to the youth and the musical landscape today.
On April 5, 1994, the legendary singer, songwriter, and musician who fronted and co-founded iconic grunge-rock band Nirvana past away. Here is a list of our favourite memories we have of him.
MTV Unplugged
This entire session is pure magic and is a true testament to the group and Cobain's talent and how much his fans loved him.
That time he covered Bowie
And wrote the ultimate song for the youth.. that we still rage to.
When he taught us to appreciate the music not the image
He was sarcastic, narcissistic at times and nonconforming and that's what made him and his music so great even after his death he has not faded away but rather is still burning out in a blaze of glory.
