Co-Founder and musical genius behind the rock titan known as AC/DC, Malcolm Young has passed away at the age of 64.
The rhythm guitarists of the Australian born band had been suffering from Dementia these past three years, ultimately forcing his retirement from the band.
The heartbreaking news was announced on AC/DC’s Facebook Page early Saturday morning.
Brother, Angus Young, took the time to share his own message with fans via facebook, praising the musical prowess of his brother and bandmate.
“As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special,”
“He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever, Malcolm, job well done.”
The dynamic duo lost their older brother and long time AC/DC producer, George Young back in October.
As one of the most integral parts of AC/DC, Young was more than just the shadow to his energetic lead guitarist brother.
Malcom Young was the man behind some of the band's raunchiest riffs and songs helping to skyrocket AC/DC to monumental success following its creation in 1973.
His family and fans are suffering fierce heartache today, so in his honour crank this jam up to 11 and raise those horns. We Salute you Malcolm. Rest in Peace.
