10 romantic Kamloops restaurants to treat your GF/BF to for date night

Brownstone Restaurant

This historic building sits on a little corner in downtown Kamloops, which you have probably walked or driven by numerous times. The Brownstone served as the Canadian Bank of Commerce in 1904 and was once the workplace of the poet, Robert Service. Look ahead to 2017, this venue has been transformed into a local gem serving up seafood, rustic bread and charcuterie. Inside, the ambience is warm and elegant, take a step into the brick courtyard and have your breath taken away from the hanging greenery and string lights.

Herbs and salad greens are grown on-site in the garden in the courtyard. Brownstone’s menu changes with the seasons, so you and your date will always be served a fresh meal.

Peter’s Pasta

A post shared by Peters Pasta (@peterspasta) on

This family business has been making hand-crafted noodles since 1983, so if you and your date share a love for pasta, then you should get cozy at one of the restaurant's few tables. Peter’s little Italian eatery is modest in size, but that does not defer customers as there is usually a line-up or waitlist on weekends. Once you get settled at your traditional checkered table, you and your date can pick from house-made dishes like Ravioli, Lasagna, Bruschetta, Primavera, Quattro Formaggio, Melanzana and Fruitti Di Mare.

Storms on the River

Storms — as indicated in its name — sits parallel to the South Thompson River. What’s even more fitting, is that this waterfront eating house is a certified ocean wise restaurant, however, they do serve a wide selection of meats and other made-from-scratch dishes. Some of these include the wild Mushrooms & Gnocchi, Braised Lamb Shank and Seared Duck. Settle in at a table by the window and pick meals from Storm’s seasonally inspired menu — spice up the night an order a beverage from their extensive wine list or order a local brew.
