IHOP is now IHOb: The International House of Burgers

After days of speculation, the restaurant formerly known as IHOP has revealed all the secrets behind its mysterious name change.

The chain is no longer the International House of Pancakes, but rather the International House of Burgers as they launch their new line of steakburgers.

There are seven new “Ultimate Steakburgers,” made from black angus ground beef inside a grilled brioche bun.

Those seven burgers are the Big Brunch, Cowboy BBQ, Jalapeño Kick, Mushroom & Swiss, the Classic, the Classic with Bacon and the Mega Monster.

“Everyone knows that IHOP makes world-famous pancakes so we felt like the best way to convince them that we are as serious about our new line of Ultimate Steakburgers as we are about our pancakes, was to change our name to IHOb,” said Brad Haley, Chief Marketing Officer for IHOb restaurants.

Haley added that "we’ve pancaked pancakes for 60 years now so it’s the perfect time to start burgerin’ burgers, and we’re kicking it off by flipping the ‘p’ in IHOP to a ‘b’ for burgers.”

IHOb has been fairly silent on whether this is a permanent change or not, but it’s a fairly good bet that it’s just a temporary change to launch the new line of burgers.
