Meet Aja Lund. Aja is from Vancouver but moved to Kamloops six years ago. She is a content woman who likes to hike and spend time with her two children.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
From Vancouver moved to Kamloops 6 months ago.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My twin boys (I can’t pick one) they’re always so adventurous in the outdoors. We hike everywhere we visit. They’re only 5 but they have taught me so much about what matters.

What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Hello Toast.

Content.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Beautiful British Columbia is all I need.

What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Hiking! Seeing the people scenery and wildlife.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Do I have to? Haha. I had naked photos on my old camera and lent it to my boss. Fml.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Learning to become a mother. Learning to become a yoga teacher.
Learning to be happy with nothing.
Learning to live in gratitude.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Driving down to Mexico with my sisters and mom. Wow, what an adventure. We learned to swim in the sea nudie girls. We learned Spanish by the locals. We lived in huts with scorpions. I was only 4-5 but I remember it well. It shaped me to whom I’ve become.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I donate blood. I will start volunteering with The therapeutic horses in Kamloops. I’d love to do more! I also volunteer my yoga teachings whenever I can.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Gun control. Really. Why wouldn’t we change it!

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Battle bluffs or the hot tub at the capital swimming pool.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
The hunting. It seems like it’s so normal to hunt and everywhere.

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The people are great! So friendly and helpful. I also love that Kamloops has something to offer for everyone and so great do families.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
•camp across Canada with my boys (tenting!).
•get my personal training certification.
•buy our house on Paul Lake.

I don’t make friends.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Ajalundingit (Instagram).

What is the name of your business/organization?
ajalundyoga.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I love yoga and how anyone can do it! It changes people for the best!

What is the goal of your business?
Love to open my own studio/cafe combo.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Probably self-sabotage.

What do you always find yourself saying?
Namaste.

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Go outside!!

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Easy. My family. Hiking picnic swimming laughing.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Because it helps the families of Kamloops.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My boys! Twins are no easy feat haha.

My uncle Bruce, we moved from Vancouver and he let us stay at his beautiful home at Paul lake. Never asking for anything in return. He’s the most open and generous person I know. I feel so lucky.
