Meet Bianca Liberatore! Bianca is from North Vancouver but has lived in Kamloops for years. She is a determined woman who loves training at the gym!
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
North Vancouver, lived in Kamloops for 28 years.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My business partner, training partner, and boyfriend, James Audas.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Describe yourself in one word.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
California for the gyms and the heat.
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Training at my gym haha.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I'm pretty clumsy so I don't really get embarrassed.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
There's a lot because I feel like each person has inspired me a lot in different circumstances. Training with Dave Tate at Elitefts, competing at the pro/am meet in Cincinnati ran by Laura Phelps and receiving my pro total. Having a great group of amazing coaches and friends that believe in me with my business and powerlifting... That always inspires me and gives me the drive to work harder.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
For us not to be so concerned with having a negative opinion on someone we do not know. For only disliking someone because someone we know dislikes them.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
My gym Cold Iron Power & Fitness was NXL ATHLETICS.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
Being able for more coaches and people in the fitness community to find a way to team up.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
Positive word of mouth is amazing.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Become one of the top 10 best powerlifters Earn an Elite powerlifting total.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I hate animals that can do people things. I don't like when animals can ride bicycles or wear hats or in movies when the animals are "real" but their mouths move like people's mouths. The Jungle Book freaks me out.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Biancaliberatore3 and Bianca Liberatore FB.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Cold Iron Power & Fitness.
Why did you get into/start this business?
I have wanted to become a trainer and own a gym since I was a kid. I love helping people get stronger and I believe feeling strong is a feeling we can all relate to.
What is the goal of your business?
I would love to have one of the top strength gyms in Canada.
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
I get very attached to clients. I have a vision of how I believe someone can really be pushed and they quit or stop exercising. It's very hard for me not to lose sleep. I always think "but you're not even at your full potential!" And it makes me extremely tired.
What do you always find yourself saying?
"That's a 'You' problem."
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Be consistent in whatever you want to do. You will not always feel motivated, but you must be consistent.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
James Audas. We go to amazing coaching seminars and meet lifters and coaches we both have admired and looked up to for so long. Being able to travel together and learn from some of the best coaches has changed my life.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Creating a gym with some of the best people I have ever met. When people tell you they look forward to the gym or you've changed their lives. There's no better feeling.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Twila Funk at All About You Massage. She is and has always been very loyal, supportive and giving to me and my business.
