Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I’m a born and raised Kamloops girl!

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My husband - he is truly my best friend in the whole world! We are always laughing together and make the best memories!

What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Far & Wide! There are so many amazing local stores in Kamloops but I always find myself at Far and Wide buying more plants I don’t need!

Describe yourself in one word.
Sassy.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Greece - it’s my dream spot!

What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Going to Sun Peaks and skiing! I love spending my winter weekends there enjoying the hill and family time!

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
In grade eight I scored on my own net during a basketball game that the whole school was at.. as if grade eight wasn’t hard enough! But I just laugh it off now because not much could embarrass me these days!

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
My parents are the most inspiring to me! They have been married for almost 30 years and are happy, in love and work so hard! They are inspiring and I strive every day in my own marriage and life to be as happy and as successful as they have been!

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My favourite childhood memory is going camping with my family and family friends! We had a trailer and would go all over BC and I can’t wait to do the same with my kids!

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
My husband has been apart of Rotaract and Rotary clubs for 7 years and has helped volunteer various events including the food drive, John Todd center and camp focus. Since becoming a mom we have donated baby supplies to the food bank as well as most recently, basics for babies! It’s so important to give back to our community!

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I wish there was better support for people struggling with mental health and postpartum depression and anxiety. I have people close to me that have/do suffer from these and there should be better support in hospitals and in our community!

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
My bathtub! I enjoying being around people but being a new mom, I do miss my hot baths alone!

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The seasons! We are so lucky to have 4 beautiful seasons with so much to do during each one! I love living in a place where the weather changes!

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to Greece. Build my social media business. Adopt more dogs.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
My Instagram handle is inspired by Rihanna- who I used to be obsessed with when I made my Instagram, I have tried to change it but my friends won’t let me because they all call me “badgal.”

Instagram @badgalbr1br1.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Brianna Shelton.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I have always loved posting photos of my life and once I had my son I decided to put more effort into it and start connecting with other like-minded people and moms!

What is the goal of your business?
To be able to work from home to raise my babies in the future!

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Remaining calm when bad things happen. My parents and husband always say to me “slow down” and I am really trying to work on that in my life now and take the night to think before I react!

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
“Everything happens for a reason.” I truly believe this, and if something bad happens there is always something better on the horizon!

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My husband - no phones, no interruptions, just a day of fun together! Life is busy and sometimes I miss him, even though I share the same bed as him every night haha!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It’s a great way to support our community and families! My parents ran a local business and not only did it feed our family but it also fed all of the other employees families!

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My son - becoming a mom was the best thing I’ve done in life!
