Meet Don Lam. He's lived in Kamloops for 9 years but is originally from a small town three hours north of Prince George.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My girlfriend Meagan. She's my biggest supporter and has believed in my goals ever since we met.
What do you always find yourself saying?
'I can't wait to go to the gym!'
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
The Rock or Michael Jordan.
Who or what inspires you?
Seeing the success of all my clients. Everyday I am bless to wake up and work in my passion. Their success is my success.

Please tell us about a defining moment in your life.
When I made a career change to pursue my passion!
What are you passionate about?
I'm passionate about helping people realize their true potential and become the best version of themselves. I started lifting weights at the age of 18 and fell in love with it. The gym has taught me so many important life lessons, some being working on your weaknesses, pushing past the pain and never giving up!
What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
Our first date to Sparkling Hill. We had been friends for four years up to that point. It was a trip to remember. The memories will never be forgotten.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I've had some big wins as a contest prep coach this year. 2018 is looking very bright!
Where is your favourite place to dine in your city?
Mittz Kitchen.
What is your favourite activity or event in your city?
Blazer games are always a good time!
What is the name of your business/organization?
DIYBODY.
What does your business/organization do?
We specialize in helping people take control of their health through fitness and utilizing sustainable methods based on key health principles. Some of the services we offer are, body transformation, nutrition programming and contest prep.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
I want to have a team of online coaches all across the world to make a global impact.
What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
Supportive, trusting and knowledgeable.
What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
I'm fortunate to work with Zac Bruce who I have just brought onto the team as an Online Coach. The two of us make a pretty deadly combo and he really improves this team tenfold.
What makes you feel successful?
Tell us about it. Not being afraid to fail! When I fail, I learn from my mistakes and adjust.
If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
I love meeting self-made entrepreneurs and hearing their stories about their path to success. I'd find away to enable us to work together.
If I could change one thing about the city you live in, it would be:
More transit buses and bus drivers! More people would likely use the service and helps with environmental issues.
What do you think makes your city great?
I've loved living in Kamloops since I moved here back in 2008. The relationships I have built are here to last. The community promotes health and wellness and community members come together in times of crisis.

Some general comments I would like to share are:
I'm honoured to have been nominated to thankful for the opportunity to share my story. My whole life I always cared about what others thought of me. I forced myself to pursue things in my life that I had no interest in because I never wanted to disappoint the important people in my life. If I spent those unmotivating years applying it to my passion, I would have been a lot further in my career than I am now. I've learned that you need to believe in yourself, because if you don't, why would anyone else?
