Meet Iffat Khan. Iffat is from India but has lived in Kamloops for three years. She is a thoughtful woman who loves to hang out at Riverside Park or shred at TCC.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I have lived in Kamloops for almost 3 years now. I am from India who came to Kamloops as a student.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite person is my mother. I can spend all my time with her. She is the hero of my life because of whom I have grown up to a respectable and smart lady.

What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Best Buy Kamloops because I am a huge fan of gadgets. I like to shop technologies and learn about the newest and trending technology news from there.

Describe yourself in one word.
Thoughtful.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would go onto a Europe tour where I can learn about European culture. I’d love to explore each an every street of Rome and Santorini Island. Traveling to a new city brings out the best of the charms in me and I can take pictures there!

What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
I like to go to Denny's at late hours of the night, having food and drinks with friends.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I was once questioned by a driver of Kami Cabs on my values and cultures. I felt that the world needs those people who are not hypocrites and those who are compassionate for others.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
I have had a chance to meet Mr. Julio Viskovich who is the founder of NextLevel Sales and a social-selling trainer of HootSuite. He teaches marketing at TRU. He inspires me with his ability to achieve success in social-selling techniques. He is a very thoughtful and motivating individual.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Favourite childhood memory: When mom would stitch dresses for me when I told her how much I loved a dress in the local store but couldn’t afford it at time.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I volunteered at TRU during Fall student’s orientation in 2017 & I-days 2019. I also volunteered to work as a social media strategist for a start-up business by founded alumni of TRU, known as Your Edu Connect. I also like to contribute to different communities and local groups at school.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I would like the world to be free of racism and biased opinions of people. Along with this, the world needs to improve on the quality of education being provided to the children because the next generation is the scope for a better world in the future.

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Riverside park or TCC Gym.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
Maybe the transit or accommodation facilities for future students.

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
Great views and beautiful landscapes & skies. Moreover, TRU is another attraction for Kamloops.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Northern Lights in Alberta.
2. Write and publish a Book.
3. Scuba Diving.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I have the soul of a writer.

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
I am very active on Instagram & Facebook for social networking and LinkedIn & Twitter for professional networking.

Bite the Bullet by Iffat Khan

Why did you get into/start this business?
To bring a positive change in the world.

What is the goal of your business?
To reach out to as many people as possible from around the world. I aim to make a positive impact on women's rights and provide motivation to the free people of the world.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Life is full of struggles but it shouldn’t worry us. I focus on putting hard work and let the results take their shape by themselves.

What do you always find yourself saying?
I like to push myself from day to day basis. I tell myself, “Be dedicated & Trust the process."

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Love yourself carelessly, shamelessly and recklessly.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Jay Shetty is that person. If you don’t know him, then you should follow his daily inspirational teachings through social media. He is an amazing story-teller!

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
When we shop locally you are contributing to Kamloops' communities directly. Purchasing locally can also help in local growth of the other local business and therefore supporting local communities.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My personal blog, Bite the Bullet which is the source of motivation for not just me but also empowers every woman in the world. In a very short period of time, I have to build a small community of talented women who are all set to shine.

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
I would give a shout out to a person who has helped me grow as an individual and supported me in bad times as well. Agyapal Singh, who also partnered with me to start a youtube channel here in Kamloops.
