Kent Wong.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I was born and raised on Vancouver Island. Then I moved to Kamloops in 1980.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I love to laugh and enjoy experiences with my wife, Arlene.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
China, to experience and explore my roots.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
True Outdoors, they cater to the outdoor person in me. They always have new things for me to pick up, look at and learn about.
What is your favourite activity?
Kayaking because I love the outdoors and being surrounded by quiet solitude while on the water.
If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
Western food is not my first food of choice but probably a burger (minus the bun).
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Conversing with a known acquaintance and having a brain fart in not remembering their name.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Listening in person to David Ziser (a world-renowned Kentucky photographer) lecturing for the fourth time on 'Lines, Shapes and Colours' and finally getting it!

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
Kamloops Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Gur Singh Brain Injury Centre and Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Ignorance and Prejudice.
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Spending time relaxing and socializing with friends in Kamloops.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
I would sneak away to a lake outside of Kamloops to get away from it all.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
Foresight in the citizenry of Kamloops in community projects instead of developing 20:20 hindsight many years later.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The great volunteerism and friendliness of Kamloops make it so great.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Own and sail a Hobie Cat, continue visiting other countries, and to continue expanding my circle of friends.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I enjoy being a homebody.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest)
Usually through texting as I don’t interact on a regular basis with social media.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I enjoy the challenge of creating something that 'wows' the client that makes them feel and look great.
What is the goal of your business?
To continue helping people feel great about themselves.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Learning to accept compliments.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I’ve often thought what my life would have been like if I had gone into languages instead of in sciences in school.
What do you always find yourself saying?
Life is too short to be too serious for too long.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Anthony Robbins or Brian Tracy.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
If we don’t support local business then the money doesn’t stay local and the community doesn’t grow or progress.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Seeing our kids grow into outstanding citizens.
