Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I grew up in Manitoba and have lived in Kamloops for almost 7 years now.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My husband and my kids!

What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
There are so many great local stores but I love visiting The Modern Family Boutique (Lizzie Bits). They have the best baby and kids stuff!

Describe yourself in one word.
Friendly.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
To our family cabin on the lake in northern Manitoba! It’s so beautiful there in the fall!

What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
Probably going to any one of the awesome parks/splash parks with the kids, checking out downtown shops, or also heading up to Sun Peaks!

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Probably dropping the groom's wallet off the chairlift while second shooting a wedding at Sun Peaks! Yep, that happened! Thankfully a biker found it the next day and returned it!!

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Having my kids! My first ended with a c-section after a long labour, but I was able to go on to a natural VBAC with my second, so I’m pretty proud of myself for doing that!

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Definitely being at the lake/cabin with my family! We would spend all summer out in the boat waterskiing and tubing! Also driving from Manitoba to Alaska over one summer and camping the whole time!

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I try to donate my time through photography where I can but I’d definitely like to start finding more ways to get involved with volunteer programs and giving back to the community.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
The way we treat the environment. Less pollution/consumer waste, stop taking the oceans and water bodies for granted.

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
Probably a coffee shop or somewhere on our family ranch.

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
So much! Great weather, people, vibe, activities, events! And so many beautiful places all in our backyard!

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Travel to as many places as I can!

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I have a degree in Environmental Science and Geology. I’ve worked in Nunavut and that’s where I met my husband!

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Facebook and Instagram.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Lyndsay Elizabeth Photography.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I’ve always had a love for photography and I wanted to be able to capture my kids as they grow up!

What is the goal of your business?
I love what I do and want to be able to capture all those special moments for other people and families as well! My goal is to provide professional experience and deliver a quality product.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Finding that balance between running a business and being a mom! Also, all my family still lives in Manitoba so it’s hard being so far away from them!

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
In the end, it won’t be regret about the things you did, it will be regret about the things you didn’t do.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Probably one of the many amazing photographers who inspire me.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It’s definitely important to support local businesses as it keeps our community and economy strong!

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Having our kids and getting to where I am with my photography business.

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Chelsea with Raine Artistry Co! She’s another amazing local entrepreneur who’s also the nicest person! Also, Devick’s Ranch and Rangeland Meats, as they are a local cattle business that provides quality grass-fed beef to the local area.

My choice for the KamloopsBCNow In Focus spotlight is:
Chelsea Stewart or Devick’s Ranch/Rangeland Meats.
