Soylent, a popular meal replacement beverage, is no longer available in Canada.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) recently informed the company that their products do not meet some of the CFIA requirements for a “meal replacement.”

Soylent says they respect the regulations but feel strongly that the requirements do not reflect the current understanding of human nutritional needs.
Rob Rhinehart, Founder, and CEO, said in an open letter that they will fully comply with any regulatory action in order to bring Soylent back to Canadian customers.

Soylent says there is nothing wrong with the product and the issue emerged from regulatory compliance, not product quality.
Soylent was subject to a food recall by the CFIA in October of last year due reported illnesses.
