Buzz the bee has disappeared off of the Cheerios box.
The famous mascot for the breakfast cereal has flown off the box because there’s something going on with the bee population.
General Mills, the company behind Cheerios has gotten rid of Buzz to raise awareness on how bees are disappearing all over the globe.
Millions of bees are dying and Honey Nut Cheerios has made it their mission to help #BringBackTheBees.
The campaign has a goal of planting 35 million wildflowers to help the bee population rise again.
One in three bites of food that we eat happens because of bees. The little buzzing creature spreads pollen that crops need, including apples, almonds, coffee, and of course the beloved honey.
Within the campaign to plant 35 million wildflowers, Honey Nut Cheerios is offering people free wildflower seeds from Vesey’s Seeds.
More than 26 million packets of seeds have been shipped out so far.
The #BringBackTheBees campaign will run through July.
