A newlywed couple in New Zealand likely didn’t expect a moment from their wedding to get the international attention that it has.
Aaliyah and Benjamin Armstrong got married this week, and a video of a traditional dance their family and friends surprised them with has since gone viral.
In the video, members of the wedding party and guests take part in what is known as a haka.
The haka, is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance, or challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand.
The dance, usually performed by a group, involves foot stomping and forceful movements.
The couple was visibly brought to tears before joining in themselves.
