VIDEO: Trail camera catches herd of wild horses fleeing grizzly bear in the Rocky Mountains

An amazing video was recently captured of a band of wild horses being chased by a grizzly bear in the Rocky Mountains.

The Help Alberta Wildies Society (HAWS) posted the trail camera video to their Facebook on June 19. It has since amassed more than 120,000 views.

HAWS helps to protect free-roaming horses with rare Spanish bloodlines in the foothills of the eastern slopes of the Alberta Rocky Mountains.

HAWS says Grizzlies can run at up to 45 km/h for up to three kilometres.

“We won't know until our next camera run if all of this band made it,” they added.

The society says that the horses are under a “constant threat of removal by the provincial government, cattleman’s lobby and other interest groups.”
