It’s easy to get discouraged when you’re dealing with a delayed or cancelled flight.
You’re so close to making it to your destination or getting home, but you’re left to sit in uncomfortable airport chairs and fight for available outlets to charge your phone.
A group of Newfoundlanders heading from Toronto International Airport (YYZ) to St. John’s International Airport (YYT) certainly made the best of their delay on Monday.
One man broke out his guitar and another somehow had an accordion, so the stranded travellers had a classic east coast kitchen party in the middle of YYZ.
People sang and danced to the festive, folksy music as the whole crowd clapped along.
At one point, a young boy gets up in front of everyone and beautifully sings a solo, which is met by thunderous applause.
The videos were all posted to Facebook by Michelle Sacrey Philpott, who fittingly captioned her post with “this is just one of the reasons why we are proud to be a Newfoundlander.”
Their pride was on full display on Monday and after a 30-minute delay the instruments were packed up and the flight took them home to the east coast.
