Yet another Canadian retailer has announced it will shutter underperforming stores as it looks to restructure the company.
Ben Moss Jewellers has announced it will close 11 underperforming retail locations across the country, including one in British Columbia. The company is expected to close these stores over the coming weeks and inventory reduction sales are already underway at the affected stores.
In addition to the closures, the store’s layaway purchase program will be temporarily unavailable for new purchases, but customers already registered will continue to have their deposits honoured and may complete their payment to receive purchases.
In 2013, the JSN Group acquired Ben Moss to provide the wholesale business with an additional sales outlet. Ben Moss Jewellers has been Canadian owned and operated since 1910 and offers customers a variety of rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and men’s jewellery.
At the beginning of May American company Aeropostale announced it filed bankruptcy and would be closing all Canadian locations. In March, leather retailer Danier announced it would be ceasing business and closing all store locations across Canada.
