New Heritage Minute on legendary women’s basketball team

For International Women's Day, Canada is celebrating the Edmonton Grads, a women's basketball team that won every basketball title in the world for two decades.

In the video, released on YouTube and Twitter on Wednesday, The Grads challenge the self-proclaimed 'world champions' the Cleveland Favorite Knits to a two-game tournament in 1923.

With that win, the team went on to become the most successful in Canadian sports history, holding on to the world champions title for 17 years.

With an all-time record of 502 wins and 20 losses, the Grads are the most successful team ever.

Basketball inventor James Naismith himself called them, "The finest basketball team to ever have stepped out on a floor."

In 1983, all 38 members were inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame.
