780K RYOBI pressure washers recalled after dozens of injuries reported

Hundreds of thousands of pressure washers are being recalled across Canada and the US after dozens of injuries were reported.

Five models of RYOBI brand pressure washers are the subject of a recent recall issued from Health Canada.

The recall says the machine's parts can overheat and burst “in certain circumstances,” causing parts to be forcefully ejected.

This poses a potential risk for serious injury from impact.

As of Aug. 20, the company has not received reports of incidents or injuries in Canada where 16,000 units were sold.

However, there have been 135 reports of incidents and 32 reports of injuries in the US where 764,000 units were sold.

The affected products were sold from July 2017 to June 2024.

They are green and have a spray nozzle and detergent tank with a blue cap. Model and serial numbers can be found here.

The company advises anyone who purchased one of the affected models to immediately stop using the product.

People are being told to contact TTIOPE to receive a free repair kit.

That can be done by toll free telephone at 800-597-9624, from 9 am to 5 pm ET Monday through Friday.

Alternatively, people can visit the company website at www.ryobitools.com/recall or www.ryobitools.com and click on the “important recall information” link at the bottom of the page.
