Another hand sanitizer recall issued by Health Canada

Health Canada has issued a recall for yet another hand sanitizer brand after its contents were found to contain ingredients that “may pose health risks.”

Both technical-grade ethanol and ethanol denaturants are not compliant with federal regulations and were found in the recalled sanitizer.

As a result, Canadians are now being advised to stop using the following sanitizer:

  • Clean & Green Hand Sanitizer Gel

In July, Health Canada issued a similar recall that identified several brands of hand sanitizer to contain technical-grade ethanol.

  • Visibly Clean Hand Sanitizer
  • Sanify Hand Sanitizer
  • Protectenol Hand Sanitizer
  • Med Clean Hand Sanitizer
  • Avery Essentials Hand Sanitizer
  • Ascencia Désinfectant pour les mains
  • Alco-Klean / Magiechem Inc. - Assainisseur À Base D'Éthanol 80%V/V
  • Agape Hand Sanitizer

Products can also be returned to a local pharmacy for proper disposal.

Anyone who has used these products and has health concerns should consult a health care professional, and report any health product adverse events or complaints to Health Canada.
