Canada Post says Canadians can expect full service levels for domestic parcels and on-time service guarantees following last month’s postal workers strike.
On Tuesday, the Crown corporation said it had returned to normal processing and delivery levels across the country, including in rural and remote areas.
On-time service guarantees resumed for domestic parcels and are in effect for items inducted as of Monday.
“We thank Canadians for their patience these past few weeks as we’ve worked to safely restore normal operations while managing significant holiday volumes,” the statement said
However, the corporation said people should continue to expect delivery delays of several days for transaction mail such as letters, bills and statements.
Businesses should also continue to expect delivery delays of several delays, the Crown corporation said.
Additionally, incoming international items will also be delayed as postal workers sort through “accumulate international volumes.”
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) went on strike on Nov. 15.
As the strike approached the 30-day mark, federal labour minister Steven MacKinnon announced he would seek the support of the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) to order union employees back to work.
Canada Post resumed operations on Dec. 21.
