LG Electronics Canada has issued a warning about several models of stoves due to potential fire and injury hazards.
The recall involves slide-in and freestanding LG electric ranges with five surface elements and front mounted knobs.
“Front-mounted knobs on the recalled ranges can be activated by accidental contact by humans or pets, posing a fire hazard,” the recall said.
People are being advised to immediately contact the company for a free warning label and placement instructions.
Anyone who has the stove can still use it while waiting for the label, the recall says.
As of Feb. 12, 2025, the company has received eight reports of incidents, two reports of injuries including one minor cut and one minor burn.
The company reported that 137,257 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between May 2026 and June 2024.
