Ontario is dealing with a flooding crisis that has prompted the City of Brantford to declare a state of emergency.
The severe flooding has prompted evacuations in several neighborhoods, including Holmedale, Old West Brant, and Eagle Place. The city has said that the situation is still “volatile, highly unpredictable and deemed high risk.”

The Weather Network reports that the localized flooding is due to rain coupled with ice jams and snowmelt.
Images and video show the severeness of the flooding that that city has on their hands, but the Brantford Police and city officials are asking that people stay away from the area for their own safety and for the safety of first responders.
Safety Alert - We continue to receive reports of people attending to the area to see and photograph the areas impacted by the flood, for your safety and the safety of the first responders in the area, please do your part and stay clear.

Major ice jam in my home town of #Brantford today. #GrandRiver Huge risk of flooding. Major evacuations in the city. Hoping the ice jam breaks and the river releases avoiding flooding of the low parts of the city. pic.twitter.com/EVTXqG1BI8
