Police in Winnipeg have charged two teenagers with weapons offences after they allegedly attacked a man with a machete on Friday night.
Police say officers responded to a report of an assault in the city's northeast and found a man in his 20s with significant upper-body injuries.
They say officers provided emergency medical care to the man and applied two tourniquets before he was taken to hospital, where he's now in stable condition.
Police say a K9 unit helped lead officers to three males nearby, and two of them were arrested after a foot pursuit.
They say it's believed the victim was leaving an apartment building when he was chased and attacked with a machete and bear spray.
A 14-year-old and a 16-year-old were charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, and the older teen is also facing five charges for failing to comply with a previous court order.
