(UPDATE: 1:25 pm) - Although the Amber Alert was issued and cancelled just hours later, it has ultimately proved to be successful.
A series of tips from the public led police in Ontario to a rental cottage in Ridgeway, where they located the red Toyota Camry associated to Ian MacDermid.
They found MacDermid and an unidentified adult woman on site before locating all five kids all inside the cottage.
Police say the children are in good health but will still receive a medical assessment and are currently being cared for.
The investigation is ongoing and MacDermid has not been arrested at this time.

(Original story: Sept. 2 @ 7:40 am ) - An Amber Alert in Ontario has caused a bit of confusion, but police say the parties involved are still missing and the search continues.

Ian MacDermid allegedly took his children Evalyn (5), Mattias (10), Sovereign (11), Eska (13) and Magnus (14) from their home in Jordan at some point between Sept. 19 and Sept. 25.
According to investigators, the children are the subject of a temporary custody order, which their father is allegedly contravening.
However, just a few hours after the Amber Alert was issued, it was cancelled, but police say the change does not mean the police are pulling back from the investigation and that the children could be in danger.
"While the Amber Alert has expired, the five children remain missing and the investigation ongoing,” tweeted Stephanie Sabourin, media relations specialist with the NRPS.
“We are asking the public to remain vigilant and to call police immediately if they or their father happen to be seen.”
