Zellers is set to make its return over the coming weeks to select Hudson’s Bay stores across Canada.
That includes four locations in British Columbia – Kamloops, Abbotsford, Surrey and Vancouver.
The nostalgic return has many Canadians inquiring about the potential return of the iconic Zellers Diner and The Bay has seemingly listened to those cries.
“As the country gets ready to reunite with the Zellers experience within select Hudson's Bay stores, the retailer has heard loud and clear the call for the restaurant’s return,” said a statement from The Bay.
“Although an in-store diner just isn't possible in a 10,000 sq ft footprint, Zellers is mobilizing a fleet of food trucks to greet customers at its first locations opening this spring.”
To start, the Zellers Diner on wheels will only visit the locations where stores are opening up, but The Bay says that if the comeback is embraced it will pave the way for a full cross-Canada tour.
For now, Canadians are being tasked with helping choose what these food trucks will serve, as there will only be five menu options.
The Bay has asked for help narrowing down a list of 10 menu items, nine from the original restaurant and an added vegetarian option, in half.
Over the next week, you can go to the Zellers Instagram account and weigh in on your favourites to help the retailer decide what will be featured in these food trucks.
