If you are someone who has swooned over the classic film Dirty Dancing, you’ll be glad to hear about its live performance hitting the stage at Sandman Centre on May 5th, 2018.
After three successful years on tour boasting numerous sold out engagements, this live adaptation of the worldwide smash-hit film is one of 50 stops of a North American tour currently celebrating the film’s 30th Anniversary.
You and your pals can expect an undeniably exciting live experience exploding with heart-pounding music, passionate romance and sensational dancing. It will have you at the edge of your seat and tapping your feet as you watch the story of Francis “Baby” Houseman’s summer vacation unfold once again.
The production tours with a live eight-piece band to perform the hits from the movie. Seen by millions across the globe, this timeless love story features the hit songs “Hungry Eyes,” “Hey Baby,” “Do You Love Me?” and the classic tune,“(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.”
Watch as the 24 cast members, including Kaleigh Courts as Francis “Baby” Houseman and Aaron Patrick Craven as Johnny Castle, reenact this timeless love story.
Eleanor Bergstein wrote the screenplay for the movie and has inked the book for the stage production.
“As I learned how many people watched the movie over and over and over, I began to think that what they really wanted was to share more physically in the event, to step through the screen and be there while the story was happening,” said Bergstein. “And if that was true, then its natural form was theatre – live audiences watching live bodies dancing and singing here and now in the present.”
The North American tour of Dirty Dancing–The Classic Story On Stage is produced by Amber Jacobsen, NETworks Presentations LLC and Col Joye in association with Lionsgate and Magic Hour Productions.
Don’t miss your chance to see this record-breaking and adventurous theatre sensation. You’ll have the time of your life!
