Revelstoke is offering free national park day passes this spring!

Revelstoke's acclaimed snowfall throughout the winter transpires into an epic spring melt.

This means that the waterfalls are raging, the rainforest is magical, and the range of activities is endless!

This Spring from May 1st to June 30th, Tourism Revelstoke is giving away a free family/group national parks day pass when you visit Revelstoke's Visitor Information Centre.

The free pass allows up to seven people arriving in a single vehicle to roam Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks for the day.

To learn more about claiming your free pass, click here.

Here are three ways you and your family can use your FREE national park day pass:

1. Discover the Inland Temperate Rainforest

Revelstoke is located in the world's only inland temperate rainforest!

Many low elevation trails wind through the mossy forest floor, where flora and old-growth thrive.

Start your adventure at Inspiration Woods, an easy 2.5km trail in Mount Revelstoke National Park.

Locals' Tip: Before the Meadows in the Sky Parkway opens on the May long weekend, parking is located at the Parkway welcome kiosk (adds 1km round trip).

Looking for a waterfall adventure? Check out Bear Creek Falls Trail in Glacier National Park. The 1km return trail begins on a downward slope, bring proper footwear because the hill climb back up to your vehicle may get your heart pumping!

2. Hike To A Scenic Viewpoint

Take a hike up the old ski jump area, where you can step into "Nels' Knickers", an interactive art piece on the site of Revelstoke’s historic ski jumps. You’ll be rewarded with great views of Revelstoke’s downtown.

In early to late June, more low elevation hikes open in Glacier National Park. Check out Bear Creek Falls and The Meeting Of The Waters trail.

Locals’ Tip: Check Parks Canada’s website for updates on trail conditions before heading out.

3. Play At Beaver Lodge Kids Bike Park

The Beaver Lodge Bike Park is fun for the young and the young at heart.

There are interactive sculptures and fun features such as a dragonfly teeter-totter. Lounge in Parks Canada’s iconic red chairs as the kids play away.

Locals’ Tip: Once the kids are comfortable at the park, try the Soren Sorenson 2km or 5km loop (the first 2km is easiest).
