Sage & Plate is taking the next monumental step in experience-based dining.
"Over the past three years we've become a staple in Kamloops with meal preparation and catering many corporate and exclusive events, weddings and private in-home dinner parties," says Sage & Plate chef/owner Paige Badminton.
“We have been creating a new dining scene for Kamloops that includes bespoke, elevated dining with exceptional service.”
Specializing in such sumptuous dining allows Paige and her ‘plates team’ of other chefs, bartenders, servers and butlers to tap into their creativity and offer customized menus, service and ambience.
"We'll showcase BC's best ingredients and products to create five to eight course dinners with drinks pairings. Or, have a butler-style party with a bartender and elevated canapes," says Paige.
At Sage & Plate, they are super passionate about simplicity as much as they are at playing with molecular gastronomy.
“With a from-scratch kitchen, our food highlights simplicity from breads to burrata cheese salads, house pasta, our famous glazed sticky pork belly, creative vegetarian dishes, desserts (think entremets – the classical French fine-dining tartlets) and deconstructed sweet plates,” explains Paige.
Other molecular delights include vegetable veils, balsamic pearls, savoury foams and sorbets that may start sweet and end up tasting savoury for a culinary mind game.
Paige started working in kitchens when she was 15 and moved to Vancouver to study culinary, baking and pastry at the Art Institute of Vancouver.
After working as a bartender, pastry chef and chef at restaurants in Vancouver and Kamloops, she decided to take the leap and open her own next-generation, forward-thinking business in 2021.
"I'm so happy I did," enthuses Paige.
"Sage & Plate has been very, very well received in Kamloops."
