The Faces of Counselling: TherapyWorks

“Think outside the box’ and ‘stay weird’ are statements that are often said at TherapyWorks.

TherapyWorks is a values-driven place for counselling that fosters positive identity and self worth, which supports people to embrace their authentic selves,” says clinical director Lori Seeley.

TherapyWorks is an interdisciplinary practice that sees youth and adults with a broad range of mental health, relationship and developmental concerns including a practice niche supporting Autistic and ADHD youth and adults.

The practice is intentionally neurodivergent and LGBTQ2S+ affirming and has a number of clients who identify as either.

“Our clients know that our focus will allow them to develop a positive identity and feelings of worth,” says Lori.

“I’ve been working in mental health for several decades and this work fuels my soul. I feel honoured to be a part of people’s journey to improve their lives, or to better understand themselves and find what makes them feel passionate or safe, or to truly start to believe in themselves. The team here at TherapyWorks is great and shares the same values about the work we do.”

Lori started her career as an occupational therapist and worked in neurology, mental health and pediatrics.

She’s now a master’s trained counsellor and registered social worker who relies on that early foundation to help clients find their own path and meaning.

“We are proud that primary care providers and physician specialists refer to our program for their patients, especially for those who need an approach that is neurodivergent and LGBTQ2s+ affirming,” says Lori.

The TherapyWorks team is also excited to expand to offer ADHD and youth transition assessments, bring in primary care nurse practitioners, occupational therapists and more team members on our youth development and educational support services teams.
