Why we love summers at Revelstoke Mountain Resort

I like to have it all when I travel, mountains and lakes, opportunities for adventure and relaxation, spas and nature, local restaurants and exquisite accommodations.

I might seem high maintenance but the one thing I don’t have enough of in my life, perhaps you can relate, is time. So when we set off for a new place, I want it to be worth every minute.

Revelstoke checks every single one of my boxes for a family getaway or a romantic couples trip. The Sutton Place Hotel at Revelstoke Mountain Resort is the place to stay if, like me, you want to have it all.

Whichever season you’re visiting in, the suites at Sutton Place will suit your every need. When we travel with all three boys I always appreciate a fully stocked kitchen, in-suite laundry and outdoor deck space. We made quick work of feeling at home in our modern but cozy space. Check out their summer savings here.

Staying on the mountain makes for that perfect feeling of being tucked away and yet it’s only ten minutes from town, the best of both worlds. There are endless ways to entertain yourself without leaving Revelstoke Mountain Resort.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s pipe mountain coaster is a must for ages 3 and up. Little ones can ride tandem with you and you get to control your speed on this one. The little cars can rip up to 42 km per hour as they glide smoothly through the forest.

With dips and turns along the 1.4 km track, there are some exhilarating moments to be sure. Our kids love the entire experience from the gondola ride up to the views at the top. Look down, you might see a friendly black bear like we did from the gondola!

This was our first experience testing out mountain biking at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. The enthusiasm for opening weekend was palpable as eager bikers lined up to board the gondola to the top of the trails. Jake took a friend along which gave me time to do some shopping in town.

Jake and Jordan found the trails to be accessible for beginners with green and blue runs that flow easily and are well-groomed. Novice and expert-level bikers alike will enjoy the technical black runs available.

There are also lessons available for those wanting to try downhill biking for the first time, making it conducive for bringing a big group of friends at different levels for a weekend of fun.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort boasts the longest flow trail ever built at 5,620 feet. Many downhill mountains transport bikers back to the top of trails with a lift, while the gondolas at Revelstoke Mountain Resort were perfect for the drizzly day.

Bike rentals, as well as safety gear, are available for rent at guest services. Ticket passes can be purchased here.

The main pool area has a large heated, outdoor pool with two hot tubs and plenty of space to lounge. Surrounded by trees, and in the distance, the mountains, it’s a heavenly way to spend the afternoon.

A lesser-known option for soaking away your stress is located in the main building, up a floor and secreted away, overlooking the natural views with the open-air hot tub room.

One couple or family is allowed at a time to ensure privacy and complete comfort.

Other amenities include a state-of-the-art gym, coffee and tea bar in the lobby, pet-friendly suites, and the Sointula Massage and Day Spa.

Three dining options are available at the resort. La Baguette provides delicious coffee and freshly baked treats all day long for an early morning pickup or a midday boost after activities.

Mackenzie Common Tavern and the Rockford Bar & Grill sit beside one another and both provide that outdoor patio, gorgeous mountain view, laid back vibe.

The menu has a fantastic selection of shareables, cheersable cocktails, beer on tap and a great variety of mains to suit your mood. I highly recommend the crispy cauliflower and nachos!
