All but one member of the Pittsburgh Steelers remained in the locker room during the national anthem on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva left the locker room and stood at the end of the tunnel with his hand over his heart.
The 29-year-old is a former Army Ranger who spent four years serving his country through three tours of Afghanistan.
With the rest of his team in the locker room, Villanueva gained a lot of attention during the anthem and it shows in the jersey sales.

According to Fanatics, the offensive lineman’s jersey has become the best selling NFL jersey since Sunday.
Having a top selling jersey is an honour that’s usually reserved for the Tom Bradys, Antonio Browns or David Johnsons of the world, but it’s clear that Villanueva’s actions resonated with many NFL fans.
The NFL has even capitalized on the sales by creating multiple men’s and women’s cuts of Villanueva’s, something that just doesn’t happen for offensive linemen.
Jerseys and T-shirts of Alejandro Villanueva are now available in men's & women's cuts.

Whether Villanueva meant for all of this to happen is another story, however, as the army veteran came out on Monday saying that he unintentionally threw his teammates under the bus.
“Every single time I see that picture of me standing by myself, I feel embarrassed,” Villenueva told Chris Adamski. “We as a team tried to figure it out, obviously we butchered it, I’m not gonna pretend I have some kind of righteous voice.”
His explanation of what happened is a little confusing, but you can read all about it on Yahoo or watch the video below.
