One of the wrestling world’s most iconic figures died on Thursday.
WWE confirmed that Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of 71.
Little information is available at this time, but WWE sent condolences to Hogan’s family.
“One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s,” the statement said.
“WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”
TMZ reports that Hogan suffered a cardiac arrest.

Hogan started his wrestling career in 1977 and quickly became one of the most popular wrestlers after signing with the WWE in 1983.
He spent the next decade or so transforming the wrestling world from a niche interest to a worldwide phenomenon.
In the early 1990s, Hogan left WWE to pursue a career in film and television but made brief reappearances on major wrestling events throughout the years.
He appeared in Rocky III, No Holds Barred, Suburban Commando, and Mr. Nanny.
Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and in 2020 as a member of the New World Order (a group of wrestlers started in the mid-1990s).
In 2015, Hogan was subject of a media scandal that involved leaked racist comments and WWE terminated their contract with Hogan that July and briefly removed from the WWE website.
By July 2018, he was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame and made his on-screen return in November 2018.
Over the years, Hogan has become a pop culture icon, recognizable by his signature bandanas and trademark blonde mustache.
In his later years, Hogan suffered some health problems from his numerous wrestling injuries.
Hogan was married three times and had two children, Brooke and Nick, from his first marriage.
He leaves behind wife Sky Daily, who he married in 2023.
Hogan was born on Aug. 11, 1953 and passed away at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
