One of the former members of the world-famous boy band One Direction has died.
Argentinian police have confirmed to media outlets that Liam Payne was killed after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires.
He was 31 years old.

According to the Associated Press, Buenos Aires security ministry spokesperson Pablo Policicchio said the singer “had thrown himself from the balcony of his room.”
He added that police received an emergency call to the hotel regarding an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”
Head of the state emergency medical system, Alberto Crescenti said authorities were investigating the circumstances around Payne’s death and conducting an autopsy.
Crescenti declined to answer further questions about the incident, which includes whether Payne fell by accident or jumped from the third floor balcony.
Payne was best known as a member of One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
Each group member auditioned for the UK version of the reality show “The X Factor” on their own, but were united by judge Simon Cowell during the process.
They had a rapid ascent to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time before they took an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
Payne later released his debut solo album LP1 in 2019, then followed it up with his LP Teardrops earlier this year.
