The #MeToo movement named TIME Magazine Person of the Year 2017

TIME Magazine has named Person of the Year 2017.

The title belongs to the #MeToo movement and acknowledges anyone who broke their silence, sparking national change.

Fittingly, they are being called “the silence breakers,” for sharing their stories of sexual assault and for their part in bringing to light the actions of powerful people like Harvey Weinstein in 2017.

The women on the cover are Ashley Judd, Susan Fowler, Adama Iwu, Taylor Swift, and Isabel Pascual. To read about why the movement was chosen as Person of the Year, click here.
