Fisher-Price baby toy recalled due to choking hazard

A Fisher-Price dumbbell toy has been recalled across Canada and the United States after it was deemed to be a choking hazard.

A Health Canada notice says around 44,512 units of the Fisher-Price Baby Biceps Gift Set were sold in Canada between June 2020 and April 2024.

It’s the dumbbell toy that poses a danger to small children, the notice explained, and the kettlebell toy, protein shake bottle and headband are not included in the recall.

“The gray caps on the end of the dumbbell toy can come off, posing a choking hazard to infants,” Health Canada said.

As of mid-August, there were four reports in Canada and seven reports in the US about the ends of the dumbbell toy coming off.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either country.

People are advised to immediately take the recalled dumbbell toy away from young children and contact Fisher-Price to receive a partial refund.

Consumers who have purchased the product in the last four years can visit this link for more information.
