In the first video of a new series with Nikki Csek of NowMedia and Ilona Morrison, the duo, led by Morrison, assembled an aeroponic tower and laid the groundwork for what future episodes will look like.
Morrison explained that that series will cover numerous topics surrounding tower gardens, including maintenance, what to do with the produce, what to grow and more, beginning with how to assemble a tower.
The duo dived into the process of assembling an aeroponic tower and while doing so, discussed the benefits of using it to grow produce.
Morrison explained that hydroponics means the roots are immersed in water, which could cause mould to form, whereas, in the aeroponic system, the plants are exposed to the air, allowing for proper circulation.
This specific model of a tower garden can hold 32 plants at one time and allows for anything that does not grow directly in the soil to be produced, so no potatoes, beets and so on.
Plants can be started outside the tower in a tray and then be transplanted or, as the duo have elected to do in a future episode, plant the seeds directly into the tower.
A couple of benefits of the tower gardens include having complete control over the growing process of the plants, while it is also “very inexpensive.”
The towers take up minimal space and can be placed in apartments, corners of homes and basements, and require very little attention.
Keep an eye out for future videos that cover everything to do with aeroponic towers.
