Popular Halloween lights sold at Dollarama recalled due to electric shock hazard

Tens of thousands of Halloween lights sold at Dollarama have been recalled after it was discovered they pose an electric shock hazard.

Health Canada said the Danson Décor Outdoor Halloween 30 Light Set is being voluntarily recalled after three reports of wires being exposed, though no injuries have been recorded.

The lights have purple or orange bulbs and black wire.

They were made in China.

The recalled light sets were manufactured in 2019, with date code 2019-04 and lot number 193.

Just under 35,000 of the sets were sold in Canada between Aug. 2019 and Oct. 2020.

Health Canada has advised consumers to immediately stop using the lights and return them for a refund.
