YETI has recalled more than 40,000 coolers in Canada

YETI has recalled a trio of products across Canada and the United States.

The recall is due to an ingestion hazard and it includes more than 40,000 coolers that were sold in Canada between March 2018 and January 2023.

The Hopper M20 Soft Backpack Cooler, Hopper M30 Soft Cooler and SideKick Dry Gear Case have all been recalled due to the issue.

“The magnet-lined closures of these products can fail and result in detached magnets, which poses a potential risk of serious injury or death if ingested,” says the Health Canada recall.

“Immediately stop using the recalled product and contact YETI Canada for a suggested replacement product of equal or greater value or gift card.”

While the company has received one incident report in Canada from this issue, and 1,399 in the United States, there have been no reports of ingestions or injuries in either country.
