New sports retailer Team Town Sports is launching across Canada

A new sports retailer is ready to debut in Canada and it will likely seem familiar to golfers.

Team Town Sports is a product of the Sporting Life Group, the company behind Golf Town, and it will service the needs of athletes across a range of sports.

A trio of Team Town Sports locations will open in May, two in Calgary and one in Mississauga, with plans to expand to an estimated 25 locations across the country.

Sporting Life Group claims that the new store will create between 2,000-2,200 new jobs for Canadians.

"By making it a place where all customers can access the equipment they need to play and train for the team sports they love, Team Town Sports represents the reinvention of the sports retail experience," said Chad McKinnon, president of Sporting Life Group.

"Our goal is to meet the needs of a diverse Canadian population with a model that feels welcoming and inclusive. Our latest concept will feature all team sports under one roof, allowing us to connect with our customers through a shared passion for sports."

Sporting Life Group says Team Town Sports will offer the latest in simulation technology, deep service expertise and custom fitting for equipment.

It will sell equipment from a long list of sports including hockey, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, cricket, curling, lacrosse, football, rugby and ringette.
