There has been a furious reaction among fans and official soccer bodies after 12 of the biggest clubs in the world's most popular game announced the creation of a North American-style "Super League." Juventus, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs joining the new European Super League. Critics say it is a transparent money-grab, while supporters say it puts soccer on a more "sustainable" footing.

A helicopter has flown on Mars for the first time. NASA's drone, Ingenuity, was airborne for less than a minute, but the short flight nonetheless represents a major breakthrough for planetary exploration. NASA said it is planning more flights in the near future.

Two men have died in a Tesla car in Texas. Police said they believe there was nobody in the driver's seat at the time of the crash. They added that the Model S was travelling at a high speed when it failed to take a curve in a winding road.

Kiwis and Aussies are celebrating as New Zealand and Australia open up a travel bubble. The bubble means residents from Australia can travel freely to New Zealand for the first time in more than a year. Thousands of passengers are scheduled to fly between the two countries on Monday.

Hundreds of firefighters are battling a blaze on Cape Town's famous Table Mountain. Three 17-storey residential buildings near the fire have already been evacuated. The historic library at the University of Cape Town has also been damaged.
