1. Trump criminal trial begins in New York

Former US president Donald Trump's criminal trial has begun in New York City. Trump has been accused of trying to cover up the paying of US$130,000 in hush money to a porn star.


2. Germans probed after marking Hitler's birthday

Four Germans have been questioned by police after they were allegedly caught laying roses at the house in Austria where Adolf Hitler was born. Police said one of the suspects, who are in their 20s and 30s, also gave the fascist salute.


3. Ford recalls over 55,000 vehicles

Ford has recalled more than 55,000 trucks and SUVs due to a battery issue that could increase the risk of a crash, Transport Canada has said. The recall affects the Bronco Sport and Maverick.


4. PM unhappy after Biden suggests his uncle was eaten by cannibals

The prime minister of Papua New Guinea has said US President Joe Biden had a "blurry moment" when he spoke of cannibals in the Pacific nation. Prime Minister James Marape said Biden, who spoke of his uncle possibly being eaten by other humans in PNG, hadn't mentioned cannibals during their previous meetings.


5. Japanese company sells world's first recycled diapers

A company in Japan has released the world's first recycled diapers. Unicharm said its products were sterilized, bleached and deodorized to ensure they're safe and scentless.
