1. Senior ministers to meet with Mexican president

Two senior ministers – Anita Anand and François-Philippe Champagne – are in Mexico today to meet with President Claudia Sheinbaum. The foreign affairs and finance ministers are expected to discuss trade and security with Sheinbaum.


2. Canadian Forces drop aid into Gaza amid 'humanitarian disaster'

The Canadian Armed Forces dropped close to 10,000 kilograms of aid into Gaza on Monday, according to the federal government. It comes as Mark Carney has spoken of a "humanitarian disaster" in the Palestinian territory.


3. Toyota built in 1985 clocks over 1.2 million kilometres

A Canadian driver has spoken of his beloved Toyota Tercel, which was built in 1985 and has 1,253,070 kilometres on the clock. Andy Campbell, from Nova Scotia, said his car is still going strong, though he's not sure whether any of the original parts remain in the vehicle – no doubt prompting questions about whether the Tercel, like the Ship of Theseus, is really the same object at all.


4. What next for Canada Post after union workers reject deal?

After union workers voted against what Canada Post said was the Crown corporation's final offer of a new deal, what is likely to happen next? Larry Savage from the department of labour studies at Brock University said Canada Post's managers "still hold cards." They could unilaterally impose new terms, Savage said, and "dare the union to strike." They could also start laying off workers as the business fails, he added.


5. NASA to build nuclear reactor on the moon by 2030: report

NASA is planning to build a nuclear reactor on the moon by 2030, according to media reports. It's part of the US agency's intention to build a permanent base for humans on the satellite.
